Today, April 30 is celebrated the International Jazz Day. This day was organized by UNESCO to celebrate “the virtues of jazz as an educational tool, and a force for peace, unity, dialogue and enhanced cooperation among people.”
Irina Bokova (UNESCO Director-General) left a message in this special date:
“In times of change and uncertainty, we need the spirit of jazz more than ever before, to bring people –- especially young women and men – together, to nurture freedom and dialogue, to create new bridges of respect and understanding, for greater tolerance and cooperation.”
