Stromae is an an hip-hop and electronic musician that is redefining what it means to be a contemporary male pop star.
He conquered his fame with the single “Alors on Danse” (“So We Dance”) that hit number 1 in 19 different countries.
Yeah you get that right, he sings in French and has become a sensation nonetheless, having collaborated with Will.i.am, Angel Haze between others.
The Belgian Singer defends the linguistic choice by saying “In Europe we listen to a lot of music in English and dance to it without understanding the words, (…) Why wouldn’t the American audience be able to do the same?”.
