Bay FM is a community radio station that broadcasts in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa, in a ration of 40% talk and 70% music. The station's line-up includes news reports, music shows and entertainment shows, sports programmes and talk shows on current affairs, education and lifestyle. On its music shows, it plays the greatest hits of the moment combined with music submission by local artists as a way to promote them to a wider audience.

Bay FM live streams worldwide through the internet and broadcasts to the Byron Shire using the frequency 107.9 FM.
